Aracely Chavez is a first year student majoring in mechanical engineering. Aracely is from Pomona, California, a small city in the outskirts of Los Angeles County. The summer prior to starting at UC Berkeley, Aracely was a part of Berkeley Engineering’s Pre-Engineering Program (PREP). Through this experience she found interest in design and innovation. Aracely plans to incorporate business into her studies of mechanical engineering at UC Berkeley. Throughout high school, Aracely was heavily involved through extracurriculars and her community which she plans to continue during her time at Berkeley. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Aracely plans on exploring industry as well as hopes to pursue a master’s degree.
