Britt Mazorra received her degree in Pure Mathematics from UC Berkeley and has been working with Cal undergraduates in STEM ever since. After years of tutoring and teaching study groups for linear algebra, calculus, and pre-calculus students, she served as a Mathematics/Statistics Program Coordinator at the Student Learning Center for several years. There, she combined her passion for education and social justice to cultivate spaces of acceptance, inclusion, and support for math students. She also has extensively studied learning theories, and has received training in executive function coaching, in order to better support the students she serves. Her favorite part of working in higher education is empowering students to take ownership of their learning process and grow in their confidence as they navigate the rigor and complexities of life at Cal.
