Feedback

We welcome your feedback. Let us know how we’re doing, share concerns or provide accolades for our support services.

Tutoring

The CAEE provides free tutoring in most core engineering courses—upper and lower division. Our tutors are upper-division engineering students who have been successful in the courses they tutor and are great at breaking down complex, technical information. In addition to having a strong grasp of the concepts, our tutors can help students understand how and where this content will continue to assist them throughout their engineering curriculum. Please log into your Berkeley email to access the tutoring schedule and daily news.

Services

In addition to being a place to study and seek support, the CAEE works to create and foster a vibrant community of learners. Each semester, we host events that are fun and helpful to developing a network with your peers.

Studying alone isn’t enough! We believe that it is integral to engineering students’ success that they form study communities to support each other’s learning throughout the semester. The center provides a great place for seeking support from our amazing tutors and finding resources in our Lending Library and Success Closet.

  • Face masks are highly recommended.
  • You are required to sign in to use our space and services.
  • Be respectful to other visitors and refrain from talking too loudly.
  • Clean up after yourself.
  • Clear the chalk/white boards after use.
  • Be considerate when using power outlets/charging stations.
  • Keep feet off tables.

Remember:

  • Tutors are here to support you in your learning journey.
  • Please provide tutors with the necessary background/context for your assignment.
  • Tutors and Student Assistants are students too.

The Center for Access to Engineering Excellence (CAEE) team aims to do all we can to lower barriers to student success. To this end, the CAEE has established the Emergency Laptop Lending Program to assist currently enrolled College of Engineering undergraduate engineering students encountering sudden, unexpected financial hardships in accessing technology for their academic success.

Due to the high demand of students in need of technology, cases will be carefully evaluated and students with dire need and high urgency will be prioritized. We will prioritize requests from students who have exhausted all other resources including loans. Laptop loans are for the duration of the semester in which students apply. Filling out this application form does not guarantee a laptop.

Apply online. Students will receive a response within 2 weeks. The entire process might take longer than two weeks to check out a computer.

The CAEE provides a series of workshops each semester related to the common struggles and interests of Berkeley Engineering undergraduates. The center works with campus partners and experts within the college to facilitate informative sessions that help students make the most of their time at Berkeley Engineering.

Topics:

  • Advanced study skills
  • Time and stress management
  • Managing test anxiety
  • Getting involved with research
  • Going to graduate school
